The Seminar on Civil and Environmental Engineering Final Year Projects is designed primarily to train students in presenting their research proposal or completed research to an audience. This involves the application of skills acquired during their learning experience in university and the development of new skills en route to presenting at the seminar. The Seminar also acts as a platform for discussions between the student and the members of the examination panel, who at the same time will be assessing the student's delivery and communication skills, as well as their accompanying visual aids.

SUBMISSION OF PROJECT PROPOSALS AND DRAFT FINAL REPORTS
Students must submit two (2) copies of their Project Proposals (FYP 1) or Draft Final Reports (FYP 2) that have been approved by their supervisor to the Faculty during Week 12 of the academic calendar. If the student does not submit before 4.30 pm, May, 6 2020 (Wednesday), the student cannot present at the seminar. As a result, the student will be given Grade E for not fulfilling one of the requirements for passing his/her FYP course. This is specified in the Guidelines for the Implementation of Final Year Projects (see Sections 9.10.2 and 11.0)
Project Proposal (FYP 1)
Format The writing format of the proposal must be in accordance with the UTHM Thesis Writing Guide and must contain items stipulated by Section 9.10.4.1 of the Guidelines for the Implementation of Final Year Project. Cover and Binding
For submission, the proposal must be bound using the tape-binding method. Use black tape only. The cover of the proposal must follow the format given below. The colour of the cover is topic area-specific, i.e. Water/Environment (blue), Building/Construction (green), Transportation/Geotechnic/Geomatic (orange) and Structure/Material (yellow).

Draft Final Report (FYP 2)
Format The writing format of the draft final report must be in accordance with the UTHM Thesis Writing Guide and must contain items stipulated by Section 9.10.4.2 of the Guidelines for the Implementation of Final Year Projects. Cover and Binding
For submission, the draft final report must be bound using the comb-binding method. Use black comb only. The cover of the proposal must follow the format given below. The colour of the cover is topis area-specific, i.e. Water/Environment (blue), Building/Construction (green), Transportation/ Geotechnic/Geomatic (orange) and Structure/Material (yellow)

Presentation Schedules
9The following are tentative presentation schedules and examination panelists allotted to FYP students. Students who will be presenting at the seminar should check the date, time and location for your presentation. Please take note these schedules may be subject to change. Students are advised to regularly check for updates.

SUBMISSION OF FINAL REPORT (FYP 2)
SUBMIT TO SUPERVISOR
FYP 2 students must submit one (1) copy of their Hard-bound Final Report along with a CD containing all materials in softcopy to their Supervisor.
SUBMIT TO FACULTY
Also, submit one (1) softcopy (pdf format) save in CD of the Final Report to Pejabat FKAAS before 7 June 2020* along with the FYP Final Report Submission (Form K) form and turn-it-in report.
Please make sure your Hard-bound Final Report complies with the UTHM Thesis Writing Guide.

SUBMISSION OF TECHNICAL repOrt (FYP 2)
SUBMIT TO SUPERVISOR
FYP 2 students must submit a Technical Paper to their Supervisor in Week 12 of the academic year as one of the requirements for completing the course. The Technical Paper must be written in English or Bahasa Malaysia, and must be between six (6) to ten (10) pages. The Technical Paper format and template is given below.
